OPS designed a website that was stylish and conveyed the style of personality of Vagabond Vintage.

The website is built on the Drupal content management system, which allows Vagabond Vintage quick and easy access to update the website with new products, news & events, and inspiration stories for the blog.

Along with the website, a social media presence has been established on Facebook and Twitter to allow for customers and fans to interact with Vagabond Vintage.

The logo is inspired by Audrey Hepburn, a style icon and inspiration to the Vagabond Vintage founder. The mascot of Vagabond Vintage is a sheep, and the owners of Vagabond Vintage have a house sheep as a pet, which will feature on the soon-to-be-launched website.

The typeface is inspired by vintage french signage, giving it a soft and feminine feel.

One Part Scissors recently updated the Dent Doctor Randburg / Sandton Website.

OPS designed the original website in 2007, and it was time for a fresh new look with some new technology. The new website is built on the Drupal content management system, allowing DD Auto to update the content of the website quickly and easily.

When building the website we were also able to take advantage of new technologies available, such as the integrated Google Street View on the contact page.

A major theme throughout the new website is the highly detailed textures used to create a sense of “realness” as you use the website, as shown in the close-up above.

PayPal is the easiest way to make and receive online payments, and they are present in 190 countries, with over 80 million active users.

Until now, a South African consumer or business could set up a PayPal account, and transfer money from their bank account to their PayPal account to make online purchases. The problem came when you would like to receive a payment via PayPal – you could receive the funds, but couldn’t transfer it back into your regular bank account, rendering it all but useless for most businesses. Now, with PayPal’s partnership with FNB, you can.

What this means for businesses is that e-commerce has just become much easier to get involved in. Up until now, it has been a complex process to create an online shop, which involved setting up payment gateway accounts and special ‘Online Merchant’ bank accounts. The banks would typically also request business plans and cash-flow statements for up to 2 years, as well as much other admin requirements. All this was a huge administrative load on a business that would like to experiment with online sales. Now the process has been greatly simplified:

• Open an FNB account,

The Music Connection website has always given an excellent snapshot of the huge range available at the shop. Now, an online experience allows visitors to make purchases online and browse a portion of the store’s massive range.

One Part Scissors worked closely with The Music Connection to ensure all the bank’s requirements were met as the site neared completion.

The images of the envisaged showrooms will be used to spark the imaginations of potential franchisees, as well as give a clear image to prospective landlords of the franchise.

We created a logo (see more about the logo here), website and magazine advert for the fledgling business.

The magazine advert was designed for the April 2009 issue of Homemaker’s Faire. The Homemaker’s magazine is a very busy publication with many adverts, so a strong, clean layout was used to ensure it would stand out in the crowd.

The affordability was a major selling point for the product, and so the ‘Wrap Doors from R310/m” is a focal point on all items, from the advert, which it boldly takes up a third of the advert, to the website, where it can be found on all the pages of the site.

OPS originally designed the Kitchen & Bedroom Gallery website in 2005. Since then, the website has seen updates to content such as pricing and product details.

In January 2009, KBG approached One Part Scissors to look at the website and see where it could be improved. Upon analyzing the Google Analytics information for the site, we found that the product pages were being visited the most – and stayed on for the longest of all the pages in the site, followed by the downloads.

To improve the site, a fresh new style was introduced that has been carried into the print design for the franchise. To cater to the visitor’s requirements, the downloads have been placed in a ‘find out more’ block on the home page.

The products section, which was previously 5 or 6 separate pages in three sections, has been completely overhauled to display the content in a quick and stylish manner. Web 2.0 javascript and AJAX techniques have been used to keep the visitor clear on where they are and what options there are. Using animation to slide information in and out of view smoothly makes the overall experience of the site faster and more enjoyable.

The contacts section has also been redesigned to incorporate GPS co-ordinates for all the branches, and a Google Maps area on the contacts page shows the full size of the franchise.

To reduce the cost of the redesign, the original website photos were reused. These photos were re-photoshopped to give them a fresh new appeal, adding to the overall feel of a brand new website.

The Josic Wrap Doors logo makes use of a strong blue gradient, offset with green. The clean, modern font makes the logo easy to ready, and the bold colours allow it to stand out in a very crowded market place.

One Part Scissors recently ported the dentdoctor.co.za website to a new website for the Arab Emirates region, at dentdoctor.ae.

The AE website has the same structure and content management system, as well as the same look and feel, but it is it’s own unique site with it’s own content. The content management system used has powerful language features that allow for the option of having the site in Arabic as well as in English, should the need for alternative languages arises. The system is versatile enough to allow for a slightly different layout in the right-to-left text orientation situation that would be required for Arabic.

The images are also specifically chosen to be more suitable to the Middle Eastern demographic.
