OPS continues to work with Rain on Mars, an upcoming Johannesburg band. With the release of each single, we create a brochure for the radio stations. The brochure is accompanied by a CD of the new single, and features a short bio on each band member.

This is the second brochure for the single “Ain’t no Sunshine”.

The Music Connection website has always given an excellent snapshot of the huge range available at the shop. Now, an online experience allows visitors to make purchases online and browse a portion of the store’s massive range.

One Part Scissors worked closely with The Music Connection to ensure all the bank’s requirements were met as the site neared completion.

Orangotang Music, recent winners of the Wackhead’s Window on the World jingle competition, wanted a simple website to showcase their music. WordPress is a simple and easy to use blog and content management system that allows them to add and edit information as their portfolio grows.

OPS has just completed the website for SAMA award winning producer Crighton Goodwill, who has worked with the likes of Loyiso, Vusi Mahlasela, Gang of Instrumentals and a host of Idols winners. He has also worked on ‘Sound to Picture’ projects such as SA Survivor Malaysia.

The website features a powerful content management system that allows Crighton to quickly and easily add information – as well as Audio and Video – to the site. The website intelligently files audio by a particular artist with that artist’s page – and it collects the artist and album info straight from the MP3 file, making uploads even simpler.

The automatic filing of information into various sections means that site administration is a pleasure – add an ‘Award’ story, and it will be filed with all Awards news; post a story about ‘Sound to Picture’, and that is the section visitors to the site will find the info.

Rain On Mars released their debut single “Cmon Over” this month. One Part Scissors is working with the band to cover all the bases on the web, developing a band site, myspace and facebook profiles.

Rain on Mars is a new South African band, set to make a huge impact on the industry. One Part Scissors worked closely with the band to bring their vision for a logo that captured the band’s unique offering to life. The cat character allows for a variety of expressions and adaptation depending on the application required. We look forward to working with Rain on Mars on future promotions and seeing this band become established on the local and international music scene.

The Music Works Logo

One Part Scissors was approached to design a logo for The Music Works, owned by David Waugh aka “The President” from the band Lonehill Estate.

The logo is bold, clean and timeless. “We stayed away from strong music symbolism, as the company deals mainly with corporates. It’s always great to work with a client who has a clear idea of what they want to see. We did explore bringing across more of Dave’s contagious personality with font choices, colour and layout but we decided to leave that up to the music he’s producing. The logo works.”

One Part Scissors has just completed The Music Connection’s website. The Music Connection has been in business for over 15 years, and is the largest free-standing musical instrument retailer in the southern hemisphere.

We took photos instore to turn the website into a showcase of the scale of the store.
