One Part Scissors has refreshed the brand of GodFirst Church.

GodFirst is going through our new Brand Appreciation Model, to strengthen the brand for the exciting changes the church has lined up for 2010. GodFirst is expanding to operate in 7 locations in the new year, and the larger scale of the group means that a defined and structured set of guidelines around the presentation of the brand becomes vital.

Because of GodFirst’s growing profile in the city, OPS created a new logo that pays homage to the former logo, so as to maintain recognition and credibility – the ties to the old identity are still strong, but the logo has been updated, strengthened and refreshed.

New GodFirst Logo. The new logo has thicker lines, which allows it to be legible at much smaller sizes than the previous logo.

The GodFirst brand identity manual was given to all those responsible for communicating on behalf of the church. The guidelines in the manual are loose enough to allow for creative expression around the themes that the church communicates about – everything from marriage and sex, to salvation and destiny.

The brand manual seeks to provide a framework that is dynamic and adaptable.

Next Steps

Work is already underway on a brand new sophisticated GodFirst website that will better reflect the multi-venue church, allowing visitors to view their venue’s info and events quickly and easily. Look out for a new GodFirst billboard around Johannesburg in the coming months as well.

One Part Scissors has just completed the logo design for Citi-Con Service

Citi-Con Services undertakes the rejuvenation of buildings in city centres. This involves refurbishing the buildings and renewing the work environment. Some providers of these services carry out their work in a very distruptive and messy fashion, but Citi-Con seeks to do the work with a minimal impact on the environment and the workplace they are refurbishing.

Citi-Con consulted Andrew Brough Communications to establish the direction for the newly formed company’s brand. The outcome of this process was that the brand had to exudes a cleanliness, best described by a doctor’s hand in it’s glove – representing the almost surgical approach to it’s work. One Part Scissors has created a brand that represents these values, while keeping the logo extremely minimal and easy to read from great distances away, and the strong eco-friendly focus of the brand is communicated by the brilliant green colours.

OPS is continuing the work of establishing the brand, with website and brochures already underway.

One Part Scissors has just completed the logo for the new Mr Blind franchise. As well as creating the logo, OPS created 3D views of the look-and-feel the Mr Blind stores will have when opened. OPS worked closely with Mr Blind franchisors to bring their vision to life.

The images of the envisaged showrooms will be used to spark the imaginations of potential franchisees, as well as give a clear image to prospective landlords of the franchise.

One Part Scissors was approached to brand a new company, Josic Wrap Doors.

One Part Scissors was approached to brand a new company, Josic Wrap Doors.

We created a logo (see more about the logo here), website and magazine advert for the fledgling business.

The magazine advert was designed for the April 2009 issue of Homemaker’s Faire. The Homemaker’s magazine is a very busy publication with many adverts, so a strong, clean layout was used to ensure it would stand out in the crowd.

The affordability was a major selling point for the product, and so the ‘Wrap Doors from R310/m” is a focal point on all items, from the advert, which it boldly takes up a third of the advert, to the website, where it can be found on all the pages of the site.

See the site at kitchenunits.co.za

One Part Scissors was approached to design a logo for The Music Works, owned by David Waugh aka “The President” from the band Lonehill Estate.

The logo is bold, clean and timeless. “We stayed away from strong music symbolism, as the company deals mainly with corporates. It’s always great to work with a client who has a clear idea of what they want to see. We did explore bringing across more of Dave’s contagious personality with font choices, colour and layout but we decided to leave that up to the music he’s producing. The logo works.”

The well established Smarthouse Studios approached One Part Scissors to design a new logo.

Drawing inspiration from architectural styles that are well respected by the firm, One Part Scissors brought the firm’s vision for their new corporate image to life.

This new image will be filtered through all correspondence and marketing material over the next few months.
