One Part Scissors continues to create advertising for OSRAM South Africa in the trade journals and magazines, as well as designing point-of-sale and other marketing materials from brochures to clothing and posters. These are two of the latest adverts, running in Vector Magazine and SA Jewellery News, promoting the LEDVANCE range of lamps.

Ligne Roset Email Advert

OPS recently created an email promotion for their new product range.
The announcement makes mention that ‘the paint has just dried in our improved showroom’, and later on, urges the reader to ‘fall for a new favourite colour this year’, so we designed an email that makes use of vibrant colourful paint splashes to attract attention.

Arc Africa Architects Outdoor

Smarthouse Studios has recently looked at their strategy for communicating what they do, and found that the Smarthouse name did not convey the full scope of their expertise. The company has been renamed ‘Arc Africa Architects’.

One Part Scissors assisted with the refresh of the existing website to reflect the new name, as well as a local outdoor advert at the El Corro Centre, close to Arc Africa’s offices.

Andrew Brough Adverts

One Part Scissors has created a range of half-page adverts for Andrew Brough Communications, to be featured in various trade journals and industry publications, such as Sales Guru, SA Conference Directory, and The Journal of Marketing.

The adverts will in most cases run below an editorial written by Andy. In Sales Guru, for example, Andy will discuss how sales skills and negotiation skills should be employed to get the best ‘win-win’ result.

As the adverts will run in conjunction with an article that allows for greater discussion around the various offerings of Andrew Brough Communications, the adverts themselves have the single goal of building the Brand and connecting the Brand to the writer of the article. We used the same photo of Andy in both the advert and the article to tie them together, and the style and branding of the adverts tie closely back to the website and the rest of Andy’s corporate communications.

The trade journals and publications the adverts are running in are characterized by extremely busy pages, with many of the adverts being loud, busy and chaotic. We sought to create some visual space and rest of the reader, which will allow the adverts to stand out, with their strong blue colours and plenty of open space. This visual oasis in the middle of the magazine will attract attention more than many of the ‘attention getting’ devices used in the competitor’s adverts.

OPS is currently also at work on some minor tweaks to andrewbrough.com that will make the content more accessible in more ways.

OSRAM 40 years in SA Advert

This month marks the 40th year of OSRAM operating in South Africa. To commemorate the event, One Part Scissors designed an advert that featured snapshots from the past 40 years, with a large golden 40 hovering in the foreground.

The image for the advert was created using 3D rendering software, and the excellent OSRAM International brand standards provided the keys to the layout.

One Part Scissors continues to do work for Miss Earth, South Africa.
This series of magazine ads call for entries for 2009.
